Watch a short video (click on the picture of the school) on how St. Peter's National School in Athlone underpinned their restorative approach in fifth and sixth classes by applying The 3Rs. There had been an emerging problem with gangs in the school, which was increasingly suffering from a general atmosphere of fear and stress among children and teachers alike. Within a few months of practicing the 3Rs, everyone in the school could "feel the difference"; the children had learned "respectful ways of standing up for themselves", and even the previously agressive children were able to join in the class and express themselves in less harmful ways.
